About me
my name is Andy aka gpl4all, i picked up this alias few years ago (1995) after have been using Linux for a while. idea is to always share my code with others, just like Linux.
i live in jakarta/ID, with my wife, doughter, 3 dogs, several kois, and 2 turtles. and i spent most of my time at home. my career as a internet consultant enables me to live like this. jakarta is one of the sickest city in the world. my house is about 24km from cbd, and to get there, at least requires 1.5 hour one way, so if i work in cbd area, i have to spend at least 3 hours in the street doing nothing but watching very undiscipline people driving whatever vehicle they got. i’ll tell more story on this later.
most of my works are done in Linux, whether it’s native application or web based application. all native applications is in c either text based or X Window Gtk application, and web based application are mostly on php combined with javascript.
content of this blog will be around my journey with Linux, and other related software, including iptables, wordpress, qmail, php, ajax, javascript, sgml, linuxdoc, docbook, squid, apache, mysql, etc.
